6th grade Social Studies classes were actively engaged in simulating the Hindu and Buddhist celebrations known as Lay Krathong and Holi. Lay Krathong is a Spring ritual of releasing concerns and worries by launching small organic rafts into the sea, while Holi is known for being a colorful celebration of the triumph of good over evil.

The Board held its reorganization meeting last night. Following the swearing in of Leila Morrelli, Sonal Patel, and Julie Steinberg, Board members elected Robert Benacchio as Board President and Sonal Patel as Board Vice President. Congratulations to all!

Dr. Wayne Mallet came to RIS to do a vocal masterclass with our 7th and 8th grade chorus students as well as members of Sharps and Flats. Dr. Mallet focused the class on singing technique along with getting our singers to focus on good rehearsal habits. It was a very productive day in which our students will greatly benefit from.
RIS Jazz Band and Orchestra sounding amazing at 7:45am. We are all looking forward to FAD Day and our upcoming concerts!
