In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Mrs. VanDeursen’s classes spent time reflecting on what they’re most thankful for by adding their thoughts to our “Gratitude Graffiti” wall. Students filled the space with meaningful messages, kind words, and heartfelt appreciation—creating a colorful display that celebrates gratitude within our school community.

Our seventh-grade scientists are diving into the exciting world of chemistry as they explore exothermic reactions—those that release heat! Students are carefully collecting and analyzing temperature data to determine which reactions are strong candidates for their upcoming DIY flameless heater engineering challenge. This hands-on experiment not only reinforces key scientific concepts but also gives students the chance to apply their knowledge in a creative, real-world engineering project. We can’t wait to see their innovative designs come to life!
Students enrolled in Science Applications recently participated in an exciting two-day paper airplane challenge. Throughout the activity, students designed and built their own airplanes with a focus on both accuracy and distance. Their creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills were on full display. Congratulations to our winners!

Mix-It-Up Day at Lunch!
Today during 6th grade lunch, our 8th Grade Peer Leaders hosted a special Mix-It-Up Day. Students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones by sitting with new classmates and engaging in fun, peer-led activities and games. The energy in the cafeteria was fantastic as students made new connections and strengthened our school community.

Our Jersey Cares Club students continue to demonstrate compassion and leadership through their participation in our 2 Lunch Tuesday program. This week, they worked together to prepare lunches for individuals in need, embodying the spirit of service and making a meaningful difference in our community. We are proud of their dedication to helping others.

As part of our continued efforts to promote E-Bike safety, School Resource Officer Riley delivered an informative presentation to students during their PE/Health classes today. The session focused on safe riding practices, key township regulations and laws, and how to distinguish between legal and illegal E-Bikes.

Kicking off Spirit Week with Crazy Sock Day!

2 Lunch Tuesday at its best! - What a great way to give back to those in need.

RIS Student Council was working hard after school . They spent some time planning future events with their advisor, Mrs. Trottere.

Mrs. Trottere, our Student Assistance Coordinator spent the day in the 8th grade Health classes teaching about the dangerous consequences of binge drinking.

It's a PINK OUT at Roosevelt School...students and staff wear pink on Friday, October 17th as a symbol of support and compassion for those individuals and families in our community affected by breast cancer!
During recess, our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students came together to decorate the front walkway with positive and encouraging words as part of the Week of Respect. Their colorful messages and artwork served as reminders to spread kindness, inclusion, and respect throughout our school community.

Our 8th grade scientists explored the fascinating world of physical science by investigating how coffee stirrers deform under pressure. Through hands-on testing, they observed bending, stretching, and breaking, made predictions, recorded data, and analyzed their results. This activity sparked curiosity about everyday forces while building critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
