We are fostering a sense of community and belonging. We want everyone to feel like there is a special place for them in our Franklin community. We started with reading the book, The Big Umbrella. Mrs. Davenport created umbrellas and students wrote kind and inclusive messages. Today, we read the book Strictly No Elephants at our assembly to promote our theme, I Belong, You Belong, We Belong. Next week is the Week of Respect. We've included pictures from September. It's been an amazing first month of school. Thank you to everyone for helping us launch the year!

The Westfield Human Relations Advisory Commission provided buckets of chalk to help inspire kind words all around Franklin School. Having adults in Westfield take the time to support kindness efforts at our school set a great example for our students. Current local leader, Mayor Brindle, was also on and and she met the founders of our Kindness Club (future leaders) pictured below with one of their club's sponsors Mrs. Romano.
