Mr. Wiley's 6th science class had the pleasure of having a classmate be the Scientist for a Day. He asked his peers questions and guided them through their assignments. This activity motivates students to actively engage in class and with their peers!

Seventh grade students in Mrs. Messinger's social studies class are in the Edison Media Center this week researching the Middle Ages. Databases are the building blocks of any research project. Students access Encyclopedia Britannica, GALE Virtual Reference Library and others to gather accurate information, while also searching the web using strategies like a Boolean Search to narrow down results via Google.

The transition to EIS has officially begun for our rising sixth grade students. This week, fifth grade students at Tamaques, McKinley, and Jefferson Schools are taking part in orientation and course selection activities with counselors, world language teachers, and Edison's excellent peer leaders from the TLRNC (Teens Learning Respect and Compassion) Club.

EIS Student Government Association (SGA) officers took time to meet with Mr. Dom, who is in charge of the cafeteria service, to propose some new additions to the lunch menu. It was fantastic to watch these student leaders advocate for changes in a thoughtful and respectful way. Great job SGA!
