
Due to the forecasted winter storm and the potential for icy road conditions, all Westfield Public Schools will have a delayed opening tomorrow (Tuesday), January 16, to help safeguard our students and staff during their morning commute. Please check your email or consult the Inclement Weather Procedures page on the district website for the delayed opening schedule.


All Westfield Public Schools and offices are closed on Monday, January 15, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.


Due to today's weather forecast, all after school activities are cancelled.

Last night the Westfield High School Choir groups entertained us with their annual Winter Concert. All were impressed by these talented students!




To help raise awareness about drugs and alcohol, the WHS Dream Team sent a fact to each student during homeroom. Students were asked to share their fact with a classmate and then trade it in for a free cup of hot chocolate.

Students in our Foods program have been exploring holiday traditions through cooking projects such as ginger bread decorating and cookie baking.





Precalculus students are practicing concepts in their current unit on exponential and logarithms .



Today Juniors met with Counselors to learn about the SCOIR platform and prepping for the college application process while Seniors were excited to focus on life beyond high school. Navigating health and wellness was emphasized during all the WHS assemblies today. Thank you to the entire Counseling department for an informative day.




Thank you to The Matthew Toriello Fund and Albert Anthony Kayal Foundation for sponsoring today's 9th/10th grade assembly featuring Dr. Matt Bellace regarding substance abuse prevention and mental health awareness. Thought provoking material presented with humor.

The WHS Community Service Club donated 4 complete dinners to the Westfield Fun Club's Thanksgiving Drive. In addition, the Community Service Club is holding a Food Drive with collection bins at WHS until November 29.


For parents/guardians of students in grades 6-12... don't miss this opportunity to meet your child's Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) and learn how they support our students. Plus, "Parenting in the Social Media Era." Wednesday, December 6 at 7p in the WHS Auditorium.


Our WHS College, Career, Military, & Gap Year Fair was a huge success as well. Over 300 families spoke with our 85 representatives from school, trades and other organizations.




Our students are well prepared for their futures and had some wonderful opportunities to explore post-secondary options this week. A group of students attended the the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fair at Raritan Valley this week with 6 students getting accepted on site! Congratulations!


Seventeen Westfield High School student-athletes signed Letters of Intent with colleges and universities, signifying recognition of the seniors’ accomplishments both academically and athletically.

Watershed ambassadors brought a field lab into Dr. Terra and Mrs. Mcloughlin's AP environmental science classes. These studies, like the data collected at Sandy Hook, help anchor core course concepts. More information and photos will be in this week's WHS Newsletter.
