Wilson was filled with musical holiday celebrations this week. Our fifth grade band and chorus performed for the peers and families. We were able to bring back two traditions: Morning Caroling during arrival for families and the Holiday Tour, where members of Roosevelt Intermediate's band, chorus, and orchestra, play for our students.

String musicians from Wilson, Washington, Jefferson and Tamaques schools performed their Holiday Concert under the direction of Robin Naylor.

Early dismissal on Friday, December 23. Wishing all a restful Winter Break. Look forward to welcoming back students and staff on Monday, January 2.

After visiting the Miller Cory House museum, Wilson second grade students did Colonial activities such as sewing, calligraphy writing, making orange and clove air fresheners and making butter, back in their classrooms.

Wilson second graders took a trip back in time to learn about 18th Century farm life at the local Miller Cory House Museum.

Mr. Borchin's third grade scientists have been busy applying science and engineering principles to build cars, test them, reflect on their data, and revise their designs.

Some of Wilson's fourth grade scientists are observing and interacting with mealworms to deepen their understanding of the relationships between organisms and their environment.

Some of our Wilson third graders applied what they have learned about multiplication to calculate the cost of a Thanksgiving meal. Using real store circulars, they selected items for their menu and and the quantity they would need. Their trips to the grocery store will definitely have more "value" after this.

Thank you to the Westfield Education Fund for their generous donation supporting student and staff wellness and to Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, for facilitating the training. https://www.westfieldnjk12.org/article/918589

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
