To recognize "Safe Schools Week," our 5th Grade Safety Patrol students received their new belts and started their assignments. They are learning how to help and support our younger students during morning arrival.
It Starts with Hello! To recognize "Safe Schools Week," all students and staff wore individualized name tags and greeted each other by name. Students and staff enjoyed creating their name tags and appreciated hearing their names throughout the day.
Throughout October, we celebrate the enduring legacy and vibrant culture of Italian Americans. We honor their significant contributions to art, science, cuisine, and countless other fields that have enriched our nation's tapestry.
5th Graders work through the planning stage of the writing process in various ways. Some students discuss story arcs with a partner while others plan their story sequence using question prompts.
McKinley's Family Reading Night was a huge success. Students and their families enjoyed celebrating the "Art of Reading." Thank you to our teachers and staff for volunteering their time to make this wonderful event possible.

First, Second, and Third Grade Students learned about Fire Safety during an assembly presented by the Westfield Fire Department.
McKinley students celebrated the Week of Respect with Spirit Days. One of our Spirit Days invited students to wear their favorite hats or headbands to show that we are tipping our hats to respecting others.
McKinley Students celebrated Walk and Bike to School Day on October 2. Students wore red and walked and biked with friends and families. Some students walked with Principal McCabe and Mayor Brindle! What a fun day!
McKinley students had a blast participating in a very engaging assembly called Basketball Jones. The presenter encouraged students to support their peers as they tried new skills.

Fourth graders enjoyed their first STEM challenge of the school year- cup stacking. Students experimented with various strategies in order to create the tallest tower of cups.
