This week at EIS we celebrate the many contributions of our three school counselors: Ms. Lisnock (6th Grade), Mrs. Webster (7th Grade), Ms. Alicastro (8th Grade). The American School Counselor Association sets aside this week in February to bring attention to the dedication, diligence, and hard work of school counselors.

Creating a community of trust and belonging is important to developing healthy relationships with each other, especially in a class that discusses sensitive topics.

Holocaust survivor, Mrs. Eva Weiner, shared her story with Edison School seven grade social studies classes today. The students were moved by Mrs. Weiner's harrowing experience. They were also encouraged by her challenge to always stand up in the face of hate.
