Children's author and former Wilson teacher Angela LaCarrubba recently visited Washington School to read stories about goodwill and thoughtfulness.
McKinley 5th graders use comic strip pre-writing to paint the picture for their narrative stories and to plan out the sequencing of events as well as character interactions.
Franklin "Recess Runners" pose for pictures while circling the fields, counting laps by collecting popsicle sticks. Parent volunteers keep track of laps and award "foot charms" to create a necklace. This is a favorite elementary recess activity. Great exercise!
