Lots of cooperative learning taking place in Ms. Ferreira's 6th grade Ancient World class at Edison, as students worked together on an early humans project, using multiple mediums including posters and songs.
Mr. Huhn's and Mrs. Trzepla's Biology classes conducted a forest health study of the WHS deciduous forest biome. Students surveyed tree height, leaf health, animal sightings and interactions, lichen abundance and dead debris to help with soil health.
Jefferson 1st graders are hard at work learning counting strategies using number lines, grids, and counters, and drawing pictures. They are building their reading stamina, writing pattern books, and practicing the proper formation of lowercase letters.
A beautiful fall day for Lincoln's annual Pumpkin Patch last Friday. Lots of fun had by all. Thank you to the many parent volunteers who helped to make this beloved event a success.
Students of Mr. Doherty, Ms. McLoughlin and Mr. Robbins went on a field trip to Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook provides a rich ecosystem for environmental study, including an estuary, a salt, marsh, and the ocean.
In Ms. Christie's class, Wilson 2nd graders practiced problem-solving and teamwork while working in small groups to create unique communities. Each community needs to include places where people live, work, and play.

United Airlines pilot Captain Michael DiChiaro visited Mr. Thompson's 5th grade class, sharing key principles in aeronautics. Captain DiChiaro, a 20-year airline veteran, discussed such scientific concepts as lift, drag, thrust, and Bernoulli’s Principle of fluid dynamics.
