
Throughout October, we celebrate the enduring legacy and vibrant culture of Italian Americans. We honor their significant contributions to art, science, cuisine, and countless other fields that have enriched our nation's tapestry.


Sixth graders at Roosevelt wrapped up a "Nature of Science" unit. "They experienced various phenomena and started to really think like scientists," says RIS principal Brian Gechtman.


Family Reading Night at McKinley is always a huge hit, with more than 120 families attending this year. Organized by Media Specialist Sylvia Dynak and Reading Specialist Susanne Bonhote, this year's theme was "The 'Art' of Reading." McKinley staff and former students hosted rooms where they shared picture books featuring specific artists, while the first floor hallway of the school was transformed into an interactive art gallery. Families also enjoyed shopping at the PTO-sponsored Book Fair.






Positive behavior assemblies at Lincoln, as Kindergarteners learn the importance of building community. They actively engaged in discussions about school-wide expectations: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Responsible and participated in fun activities that encouraged kindness and respect.


The Board loves recognizing the many achievements of our students and staff. National Merit Semifinalist Garrett Gao and 2024 T&F Coach of the Year Chris Tafelski were last night's honorees.

Last week's "Thursday Table Talk" by the WHS counseling team focused on the Week of Respect, with students learning about bullying prevention. They were asked to contribute to a board by finishing this sentence, "We celebrate diversity because...", on a sticky note.
