Message From Mr. Gechtman
This week, Roosevelt Schools implemented our first Advisory lesson of the year. The Advisory program, implemented at both intermediate schools, is a time set aside each month for students to engage in character education and social emotional learning lessons. This year, the content of Advisory lessons will be guided by the Character Strong program. These lessons, differentiated by grade level, actively engaged our students that led to meaningful discussions. I am beyond thrilled the way in which our Counseling Department planned, our staff implemented, and our students responded to these lessons.
This week concluded with our annual Club Fair and Fall Drama interest meeting. During the Club Fair students had the opportunity to explore the many club options available at Roosevelt School.
Throughout the entirety of next week we will be celebrating the Week of Respect. During the Week of Respect students will engage in a variety of activities and lessons planned by our counseling department that are designed to build a positive climate and reduce acts of bullying.

During the month of September, students in 6th grade created “Time Capsules” in order to collect thoughts, goals, and memories from the start of the school year. Time Capsules will be returned in June so that students can reflect and see how they’ve grown.
