Roosevelt Intermediate School

Message From Mr. Gechtman

I hope that everyone is as excited as I am for the start of school on Wednesday, September 7th. It’s perfectly normal for students (especially students who are new to the school) to feel a bit of nervousness prior to the first day of school. Parents, reinforce with your children that there will be large numbers of caring adults around the hallways of Roosevelt School with the sole purpose of supporting and guiding students on their first days of school. A few last minute helpful tips prior to the first day:

  • Print a copy of your schedule and keep it handy for the first few days.

  • Know your homeroom number. Students will receive copies of schedules during homeroom on the first day of school.

  • Pack a lunch - As students receive and grow accustomed to cafeteria routines, purchasing lunch can take a bit longer than usual. Packing a lunch allows students to avoid these lines.

  • Get a good night’s sleep prior to the first day of school.

  • Bring your charged Chromebook on the first day.

  • Have a plan for how you will get home during the first few days.

  • Come to school with a positive attitude. It’s going to be a GREAT year!
