Westfield students were among 140 6th graders from 5 school districts at a Union County Gifted and Talented Association event. The amateur sleuths used observations, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to solve a fictional crime.

Jefferson principal Dr. Susie Hung visited with 1st graders to share about the Lunar New Year. Students learned about the Chinese Zodiac and the Year of the Rabbit. "We wish everyone happiness, good health and prosperity!," says Dr. Hung.
Mrs. Minski's fourth grade class at McKinley is learning about electricity. The children made their own circuits, demonstrating how to light a bulb and make a motor work. The students then tested various materials to see if they were conductors or insulators.

WHS students in Kimberly Leegan's Mock Trial course participated in the Union County "Classroom to Courtroom" program. Superior Court Judge James Hely presided, with 8th graders serving as "jurors." The students ended the mock trial with a Q&A session with Judge Hely.

Thanks to the Tamaques PTO, students enjoyed an assembly that combined magic with motivation as magician Chad Juros shared his story of overcoming a childhood illness, emphasizing the importance of perseverance.
