Congratulations to the WHS Class of 2023!

We love celebrating milestones! Here's a snapshot of Grade 5 moving up ceremonies and clapouts at Jefferson and Wilson.

We are excited to honor the WHS Class of 2023 at the commencement ceremony this afternoon! Meantime, clapouts continued yesterday at their elementary alma maters, including McKinley.

Congratulations to all of our 8th graders!

Using skills that include math, research, technology, graphic design, public speaking, and economic vocabulary, Franklin 3rd graders pitch their "product" to three "Sharks" during a classroom "Shark Tank." "This is a highlight for my students for the year," says Mr. Pask.

Mr. Cheddar's English 3 Honors students at WHS created visual representations of poems they read, including the works of poets Jane Hirshfield, Phillip Schultz, Clint Smith, Rupi Kaur, Robert Frost, and Amanda Gorman.

The elementary school clapouts continue for the Class of 2023! Here's what it looked like at Jefferson and Tamaques.

Kudos to the All City Band, Chorus, and Orchestra, amazing musical talent at the elementary level. Special thanks to our music directors Aaron Staluppi, Margaret Fatsis, Brent Geyer and Christina Toulios, plus All City Coordinator Marisa Minogue and the supportive families!

Recess walker/runner clubs, organized by our elementary school parent volunteers, are a great way to promote fitness and fun. These three Washington 5th graders ran a total of 158 miles during recess this year!

More celebration of students and staff, along with new administrative appointments and much more at the June 13 meeting of the Board of Education. Here's the synopsis:

Project Build students at Roosevelt brainstorm, design, and develop an original idea for a board game, using multiple forms of technology, including the 3D printer and laser cutter, to create the gameboard, game pieces, instructions, and a logo.

Franklin alums, soon-to-be WHS graduates, receive enthusiastic welcome during Franklin clapout. Students enjoyed reconnecting with their teachers and vice versa!

We love celebrating our seniors! Here's Senior Awards Night, with special thanks to the many generous donors. https://www.westfieldnjk12.org/article/1149859

Special thanks to the WHS PTSO and staff members who organized stress reliever stations around the school to give students time to relax during finals week. Counselor Robyn Solomon, also club advisor for Paws for a Cause, arranged for a visit from these soothing therapy dogs.

Congratulations to the WHS senior and junior teams for success in the MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge 2023!

Wilson celebrates the WHS Class of 2023 and Wilson alums! More senior clap outs to come.
